Most duty arguments on a youth team start because nobody put a number on the ask. A parent hears snack rotation and pictures a bag of oranges. What they actually signed up for is fourteen dates, a separate nut free option every time, and two turns before the last game. The same goes for field duty, where three roles per Saturday across eight home dates turns into a real block of hours per family.

Why the team parent calculators are open to everyone
The math behind a youth sports season is not hard, it is just tedious, and right now team parents do it by hand on the back of a printed game schedule. Twelve kids times two dollars and a quarter, plus the nut free box, times fourteen snack dates, divided by the eleven families actually taking turns. Then eight home dates times three duty roles times two and a half hours, minus the coaching families who are exempt. Nobody enjoys that arithmetic at 10 at night, and getting it wrong is how a preseason parent meeting turns into an argument about willingness instead of numbers.
So both calculators run with no account, no sign up and nothing to install. They are worth having even if you never build a rotation with us, because the two figures they produce, the cost of one snack turn and the shifts owed per family, are exactly what you need to say out loud before anyone signs the season commitment. Read the result off your phone at the first practice, paste it into the team thread, or print it and hand it to the board when you ask for a smaller duty block.
